The sun went up and down again, another day my dearest friend Did you really think this would not end? All the same I've gotta say I wouldn't have it any other way As we go rolling 'round the bend And I'll be back this time tomorrow on the road by the sea To give you back the time I borrowed I had intended to keep On the west horizon's brink is where my dear old ship did sink It left me too dazed and confused to think I don't know when, I don't know how but I swear I'll get up off the ground That holds me down and makes me feel so weak. And I'll be back this time tomorrow on the road by the sea To give you back the time I borrowed I had intended to keep

Athena 03:47
Oh Athena, you're casting a shadow Over the city, the city I live in She's so beautiful but not worth my time Yeah I think that I can do better Don't wanna fight, but you crossed the line You're shadow be cast no more Oh Athena, you're playing the wrong game With the wrong opponent, broken records stay broken And did that record skip? Cause it's the same fucking thing Repeatedly sang to no end at all See the sunlight best from darkest of nights Your shadow be cast no more Oh, the stars that danced around our hearts Could not prevent the scars from forming where our Love used to be Oh, Athena, just one final word The rain will corrode you until it runs through you And I'll be standing here with the nothing you left That I kept When the sirens sound and the lions awake With the song that you sang Oh Athena, you'll trouble me no more

Every night we were up at the bar, every morning we'd puke in your front yard It'll be long before I black out drunk in your bathtub again Well, I've enjoyed wasting my life almost as much as wasting all yours Like that afternoon all of these years have been one big, blue blur I miss being afraid of the dark and dressing in time travelers clothes And tossing a lime back and forth because that's the way that the game goes If I could walk the highwire through downtown, across the trapeze back to your house We'd both say the other is true because in the end nobody knows Tonight we drink to remember and sober up to forget This is not the last that you'll see of me This is not the last that we'll ever be, ever be Sitting in the same room, reading different pages of the same boring story And now you're moving on, this is long as we'll ever get Now you're moving on, to the biggest adventure yet Now you're moving on to the biggest adventure yet And I'll keep singing these songs from my motherfucking basement So tell me again - where did you go now? Chicago? Philly, LA? And to all my nomad friends on the road out there riding the trains You better all make it home safely or God help me, I'll kill you myself And my I say it is the craziest thing that I get to make toasts to your health Tonight we drink to remember and sober up to forget This is not the last that you'll see of me This is not the last that we'll ever be, ever be Sitting in the same room, reading different pages of the same boring story And now you're moving on, this is long as we'll ever get Now you're moving on, to the biggest adventure yet Now you're moving on to the biggest adventure yet And I'll keep singing these songs from my motherfucking basement Well, I wouldn't go back if you paid me but I wouldn't change it for the world So that's why I'm thinking maybe we'll meet at another bar in another town down the road Oh and then, just maybe then we can make a new Hegel joke. Tonight we drink to remember and sober up to forget This is not the last that you'll see of me This is not the last that we'll ever be, ever be Sitting in the same room, reading different pages of the same boring story And now you're moving on, this is long as we'll ever get Now you're moving on, to the biggest adventure yet Now you're moving on to the biggest adventure yet And I'll keep singing these songs from my motherfucking basement

The stairs have never ever been so daunting Joints grinding together begging you to go no further And what's worse, your mind is listening Too tired to continue, lost your muster and your fervor This is the moment you've been fearing all your life This is the moment when you must decide - well, I've decided If I live to be 100, I still would think it's true Existence worth existing is existing within you It's a shame you've grown to be so heartless Cause life is full of suffering but it's not without catharsis and I say: I will fight until my dying moment I will fight until my dying moment And every now and then I'll get to see my family Eyes are turning bridges burning - kids are so young they don't know my name This isn't happening. I'm old and getting older every day until the day I waste away Scream and shout till the last vibration leaves your throat Every weakness a strength to unfold If I live to be 100, I still would think it's true Existence worth existing is existing within you It's a shame you've grown to be so heartless Cause life is full of suffering but it's not without catharsis and I say: I will fight until my dying moment I will fight until my dying moment Did you ever find what you were running from Or did it just make you run farther away Did you ever, ever find your smoking gun? If I live to be 100, I still would think it's true Existence worth existing is existing within you It's a shame you've grown to be so heartless Cause life is full of suffering but it's not without catharsis and I say: I will fight until my dying moment I will fight until my dying moment

Well, I don't wanna live in a world where a fighter jet is considered a better investment than a hospital Or a tank is than a school But I'm equally tired of being told that our solutions lie in bottles, rags, and broken glass Because the violence of the past can never be washed away in fresher blood Because for every single building that is burned down, another conformist is born And they will never dare to question the system that holds them down Oh, no they won't Did you see it? Did you hear it? Did you ask what was going on? The cops shot another kid down the road, reports said he was unarmed or so they say And after a joke of a trial, that motherfucker walked free And there are too many people that already this case that don't seem alarmed Ok, now here's the really scary part -Which case am I talking about? Bet you don't know Well, if you say that you want change than don't ask for the same damn thing I never wanted to throw rocks I just wanted the pendulum to swing Back to a place and a time that I never thought was quite real But I'm starting to get nauseous from the swinging Cause I'd rather die a bitter old man and cling to impossible dreams I'm tired of making do with inbetweens
